Boviisky tags are produced on a Never-tear Matt Material, which is a white opaque polyester synthetic paper that is resistant to water and tearing without lamination.
The high-quality biaxially-oriented polyester core ensures excellent dimensional stability. With an anti-static top coating, Boviisky tags can be written on with ballpoint, fountain pen and pencil and is resistant to erasure.
Why is it important that Never-tear is PVC-free?
“PVC-free” indicates that the tag contains no chlorine or phthalates—two toxic substances found in certain PVC materials.
Phthalates are additives used to make PVC soft and flexible, but they are reported to pose health risks as they can easily migrate or evaporate, making them susceptible to inhalation or ingestion. For this reason, the European Union has banned the use of phthalate-containing products in toys for children under three-year old since 1999.
Chlorine is a toxic substance whose production not only leads to mercury emissions but also releases dioxins into the environment. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC, a part of the World Health Organization, WHO) has classified dioxins as “known human carcinogens.”
